Connecticut Society of Mortgage Brokers (CSMB)
The Connecticut Society of Mortgage Brokers is a voluntary membership organization for licensed CT mortgage brokers. By belonging to the CSMB, mortgage brokers are promising to adhere to a higher standard, Best Business Practice Guidelines and a strict Code of Ethics.
Members of the CSMB promise to clearly explain financing options, look out for the customer's best interests, disclose all conflicts of interest, explain all fees, practice complete confidentiality, process loans in a timely fashion, follow the law, and to do their business without discrimination.

National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB)
The National Association of Mortgage Brokers has a great search function on their website, http://www.namb.org, that's accessible right from the home page. Users can find a broker based on their name, organization, type of certification, city, state, zip code or broker type.
Like the CSMB, which is an affiliate of the NAMB, members must subscribe to a higher Code of Ethics and Businesses Practices that essentially focus on good business, integrity, honesty and always putting the needs of the customer first.
Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association (CMBA)
The Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association is based in West Hartford, CT and home to over 900 people and 225 organizations that all work in the Connecticut mortgage industry. Because their membership isn't limited to just CT mortgage brokers, you can also access listings for lenders, agents, attorneys, insurance providers, appraisers and more. Their website offers a member's database, sorted by name and available at http://www.cmba.org.
