For couples and families looking into a new community, the Margate real estate market provides a serene and safe neighborhood with one of the finest school systems in the country. The Margate population is just under 9000 residents.

Public transportation is available in Margate, including bus service, taxis, a Greyhound station and Amtrack service.

The closest airport is a mere 10 miles away, and access to major highways is also nearby. Atlantic City is only 15 minutes away, while downtown New York City is an approximate 2.5 hour drive, depending on traffic.

Margate Housing

The Margate real estate market ranges from seaside condos to bungalows to large-scale luxury homes and multi-family dwellings. The median price in Margate is about $475,000, but has gone as high as $650,000.

However, seaside mansions selling for upwards of $5 million push that median price higher. One bedroom condos can be had for as little as $125,000, with mid-size family homes listing in the $300,000 to $450,000 price range.
