The website, run by the Canadian Real Estate Association, is an advertising site for realtors in Canada and allows prospective buyers to search through a comprehensive database of realtor-listed homes.

Step 1 – Go to MLS.ca (http://mls.ca)
Again, while MLS.ca is not an MLS system, you can search by MLS number and the vast majority of real estate professionals in Canada will list their properties on this website. It is the premier resource for Canadian home searchers.
Step 2 – Click on Alberta
To start your search, click on Alberta on the map of Canada found on the site's home page.
Step 3 – Select Southern Alberta
If you're focusing on a MLS Calgary search, you need to narrow your area further by clicking on Southern Alberta.
Step 4 – Select Calgary
Unless you want your search to include communities like High River, Banff, Cochrane or Red Deer, narrow your search further by clicking on Calgary.
Step 5 – Choose a District or Multiple Districts and Neighborhood
The MLS Calgary site allows you to narrow your search by four city districts. The districts are divided roughly by the Bow River and the Elbow River. Each district is then divided by neighborhoods and areas. For example, District A includes Arbour Lake, Bridgeland and Symons Valley while District D includes Seton, Ramsay, and Highfield.
Step 6 – Narrow Your Search
The MLS search website allows you to narrow your search substantially. You can opt to exclude condominiums or search for condos exclusively. You can narrow by price range, type of property, style of house, bedrooms, bathrooms, view, waterfront and amenities like a fireplace, pool, air conditioning, acreage or workshop.
Step 7 – Review Results
After you've inputted your search requirements, the MLS Calgary website will then display all the matching properties. You can then sort them by price, photos, upcoming open houses or whether they have a virtual tour.
