The city ranks as the third “most business friendly” and the fourth for “quality of life” among “North American Cities of the Future.”
The city origins go back to the early 1800s when a soldier named Orlando Reeves supposedly died there during the war with the Seminole Indians. For years, it was the center of the local citrus industry and was finally incorporated in 1875.

Of course, the area is best known for its proximity to Walt Disney World, and various other theme parks. All of them no more than an hour’s drive for any part of the city.
While a major city, and headquarters to several large corporations, the community has a distinctly small town flavor to it. Skyscrapers are not an overwhelming part of the downtown area.

Now, if money is not an issue, and you relish city life, several high-rise condos have units available. The prices generally start around $250,000 and go to over a million for the penthouse suites.
These buildings also offer pools, fitness clubs and sometimes (down on the ground floor) restaurants.
Of course, any discussion of Orlando, Florida homes for sale has to include the local amenities and natural wonders. The theme parks go without saying.
Then there are the numerous parks and local flavor – Rock Springs, a natural underground spring of cold, clear water, is a local favorite.
The city is little more than an hour’s drive from the east coast, affording easy access to the beaches there. Yet, as the city is inland, it is much better protected from storms.
So, it’s easy to see that Orlando Florida homes for sale have much to offer a potential homeowner.
